Our Mission...

The Charles H. Este Cultural Center will house something much larger than the confines of its walls.  It will house the spirit
of the Negro Community Center and the determination, identity, pride, ingenuity and tenacity that have shaped the face of today's Montreal Black Community.  Visitors will be taken on a journey of the spirit where they will discover and
experience the inspiring history and dynamic culture of Montreal's Black heritage.

The Center represents and will bring to light the contributions of the Black community in Montreal, Quebec and Canadian history.  A celebration of culture that will reveal Canada's Black legacy for present and future generations. Consistent with the Negro Community Center's prior mission, the Charles H. Este Cultural Center will foster a sense of belonging, learning,
and growth.  Our mission is to rebuild and recreate a center that will intellectually and emotionally engage any and all
who come to share the past, present and future of Montreal's Black Community.
